Thank you for taking the time to download this app. We appreciate it.
Goal
The primary goal of this app is to provide you, at all times, with self-care health related decision making tools.
These are actionable tools you may need as you decide the best course for health related problems that may come your way.
What If?
The Brains
This app was developed and is currently maintained by a team of actively practicing US registered pharmacists that work in your community as retail, community or clinical pharmacists.
Motivation
The community pharmacist is probably the first member of the healthcare team that you will come in contact with if, let's say, you have a cough.
The interaction you have with the pharmacist, a trusted member of your community, will set the tone for how you will approach a health problem.
One day a colleague and I noticed how people were bumping into each other in the cold and flu medicine aisle during one of the recent cold seasons-Looking, reading, getting confused over all the plethora of cold medications just on one shelf.
Each one will settle for one that may not work. Half of those medications are waste of money.
We wondered how nice it would be to have a pharmacist guiding these people so they can make the best decisions in choosing these medications.
Unfortunately, the current work flow for the retail pharmacist does not call for that.
90% of the pharmacies are owned by drug chains that want to maximize profit. They would rather have the pharmacist running the cash register (because they don't want to pay minimum wage to a cashier) than for him or her to help you make a good decision about your self-care medication needs.
We said to ourselves, we could stand back there and keep complaining about these drugstore chains, the attitude of which we are never going to change, or do something about it. Afterall, this is what we went to school for. Hence the "What if" questions.
With these "what if" questions in hand, we sought assistance from other pharmacists for the development of this app.
We hope you have fun using it as much as we did putting it together.
During the beta testing of this app, one of the testers commented that this is like having 4 or 5 apps in one. I can see where that observation came from. Let me pass this introduction on to the project leaders of the different sections of this app for any important information they might want to pass on.
Please tap on the different sections above and see how they might help you meet your healthcare needs.
Should you have any questions, don't hesistate to contact us.
Sincerely,
E K Iyamu (Registered Pharmacist.)

You can compare cold and flu, allergy, laxatives, heartburn medications or eye drops?
What we did
We have put together a simple, easy to use app to compare most over the counter medications.
Would you like to compare probiotics? Or perhaps want to compare medications for a yeast infection available over the counter.
What about comparing heartburn medications? Or even energy drinks?
This is the app for all these things.
This app will give the dose of an over the counter medication for our kids based on their weight.
Purpose
Ever wanted to give your child an over-the-counter medication and the label says: "Under 6 years consult your doctor."
You take a look at your child and he or she is 5 yrs and a few months as if it is his or her fault.
What should you do? Should you give a 6 year old dose? A lower dose? Or why should my child not take it if a 6 year old kid can take it? Afterall he or she is just as big as a 6 year old.
Then you walk over to the pharmacist. He or she simply read what the box said about not using the medication if under 6 years back to you. As if you haven't read it before or something. Then tells you to call your doctor.
I hated doing that to people. For me not anymore.
Now I just ask: "How much does the child weigh?" Then whip out this app and pretend as if I am calculating the weight or something and give it to a grateful parent.
If you are deciding whether or not to keep this app on your phone or mobile device, and you are a parent, keep it because of this feature of the app. You will need it. Trust me. If I haven't bored you so far, tap on the "FYI" button below to read my story.
